'You will not win'After several moody, tonally Terrence Malick-style teases for Man Of Steel, and then that impressive, grandiose more recent effort, things kick up a notch even further on the action stakes with this combat-laden new trailer. There’s a greater chance for big moments (fights, not plot) to be spoiled, so take care, but otherwise… enjoy. Launched via another message from Michael “I WILL FIND HIM!” Shannon’s General Zod as he demands that us Earthlings tell him where Kal-El is hiding, it then segues into a blistering barrage of action scenes as Superman (Henry Cavill) faces off against Zod and, in particular on this one, Antje Traue’s Faora, who delivers a chilling threat to our hero: “For every human you save, we will kill a million more…” So if you were wondering whether Zod and Faora would be presented as peaceful, there’s your answer. Those two (and the Kryptonians they brought with them) are not messing around.Man Of Steel will also find Kal-El trying to find his place in the world, living on a planet of people who are nowhere near as powerful as he. From the looks of this, he’ll end up having to protect us from some very angry, highly destructive Kryptonians.Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer and Christopher Meloni all feature in this one, which arrives on June 14. We have to admit we’re excited to see some of those set piece moments on the biggest screen we can find. Liberty Global’s Chellomedia Up For Sale Liberty Global has put its TV channels unit on the block. The Wall Street Journal reports that John Malone’s international cable business is seeking for $800M-$1B for Chellomedia, which produces and distributes TV channels in a variety of genres including sports, movies and cooking to roughly 390 million households. The division’s reach in Latin America, Eastern Europe and elsewhere has growth potential and should draw suitors. Chellomedia’s revenue last year was $514 million, from sales to Liberty Global operators as well as third parties. HBO In Content Deal With Amedia In Russia HBO has inked a distribution deal with Russia’s Amedia, which produces TV series, telefilms and other programming. The 11-year-old company will offer HBO fare and other premium TV content from additional U.S. and international studios. The 5-year pact includes past and current seasons of HBO series and gives Amedia access to HBO’s future productions over the lifetime of the deal. ‘Crossing Lines’ To Open Monte Carlo Television Festival The Monte Carlo Television Festival has tapped crime procedural Crossing Lines as the premiere screening during the June 9 opening ceremony of its 53rd edition. Jointly commissioned by France’s TFI and Sony Pictures Television, the series stars William Fichtner, Marc Lavoine, Gabriella Pession, Tom Wlaschiha, Donald Sutherland and others. The series was created and developed by Edward Allen Bernero and Tandem Communications chief Rola Bauer, who both serve as executive producers. S. Korean Helmer Boon Tops Edinburgh Jury Boon Joon-ho will chair the international feature film competition jury at next month’s 67th Edinburgh International Film Festival. The South Korean helmer, whose English-language debut Snowpiercer is due later this year, will be joined by Game Of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer and Scottish film critic Siobhan Synnot. They will judge a selection of films that highlight filmmaking from outside the UK that is imaginative, innovative and deserving of wider recognition.
