Denzel Washington is eyeing the lead in Dan Gilroy’s next, Inner City Denzel Washington looks to be teaming up with Nightcrawler’s Dan Gilroy. According to a story today at Variety, the two-time Academy Award winner is eyeing the lead role in Inner City, planned to be Gilroy’s second feature film as both writer and director. RELATED: Watch Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt in the New Magnificent Seven Trailer Although the trade likens Inner City to Sidney Lumet’s 1982 courtroom drama The Verdict, details on its specific plot are currently few outside of the fact that the story, like Nightcrawler, is set in Los Angeles. Gilroy earned himself an Academy Award nomination for his original Nightcrawler screenplay.
