CEO of Liberty Media, Greg Maffei.Andy Cross, Denver Post file Gregory Maffei, chief executive with the Liberty group of companies in Douglas County, suffered a three-quarters drop in compensation last year compared with 2014, when he ranked among the country’s highest-paid executives. Despite that, Maffei, chief executive at Liberty Media, Liberty Interactive, Liberty Broadband and Liberty TripAdvisors, still managed to rank as Colorado’s highest-paid executive last year, a spot he has regularly claimed in recent years. Between those four jobs, Maffei had reported compensation of $29.3 million, down from $124.2 million in 2014.
