The last big movie of the month, Walt Disney Studios' Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, opened on Thursday night with previews that brought in $4.2 million and now we have estimates for Friday that shows the movie's opening day to be around $24.2 million. On top of that, Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West opened yesterday and brought in a fairly disappointing $6.1 million and may have trouble reaching $20 million over the weekend, a far cry from the $50 million plus opening for Ted a few years back.
