Keith Olbermann gives abrupt goodbye to MSNBC show

Keith Olbermann was MSNBC's most popular personality and single-handedly led its transformation to an outspoken, left-leaning cable news network in prime time. Despite that, he often seemed to be walking on a tightrope with his job.

CNN Axes Anchor Rick Sanchez After Anti-Jew & Anti-Jon Stewart Rant On The Radio

CNN today fired anchor Rick Sanchez a day after Sanchez assailed The Daily Show host Jon Stewart as a "bigot" and suggested that CNN and the other networks are run by Jews. Sanchez made his rant Thursday on the Sirius XM radio show "Stand Up! with Pete Dominick". CNN acted within 24 hours. "Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well," the Time Warner cable news channel said in a statement. Sanchez recently lost his afternoon show on CNN Rick's List, which is being replaced by CNN Newsroom. The Daily Show considered Sanchez an intellectual lightweight compared to CNN stars Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blizter and made him the butt of jokes, which Sanchez resented and thought was racist. (He's Hispanic.)

Fox News' Bret Baier interrupted President Obama so many times during Wednesday's interview that Newsweek described the enounter as a "interrupt-a-thon."

Baier acknowledged his repeated interjections at the end of the interview, by interrupting the president once more to apologize. Baier told Obama "I apologize for interrupting you, sir.

 

CNN Drops to Last Place Among Cable News Networks

CNN, which invented the cable news network more than two decades ago, finishes fourth behind Fox News, MSNBC and its own HLN.
