When I heard that News Corp was selling Myspace, I was curious about the price, what with Facebook being valued at $50B (or $75B on SecondMarket) and Twitter at around $5-7B.
I’m surprised that News Corp’s trying to sell MySpace for a relatively cheap price of $100-200M. Most recently, they wanted $100M in stock from Zynga, makers of popular Facebook app Farmville. They were reportedly only willing to offer $50M cash.
Senh: They consider Windows Live a social network? That's a first.
Senh: Impressive. I wonder if it's the social plugins that sparked the privacy concerns the reason for Facebook's growth for the last couple months. Myspace isn't growing anymore, but it seemed to have stabilized, which isn't too bad if the company budget accordingly. Twitter seems like its gotten as big as it could get. Maybe now they can finally focus on monetization.
Some features just make sense. Google Buzz is one of them. It's nothing new really. It's just Twitter integrated within GMail, and with commenting, it looks a lot like Facebook.
On most websites nowadays, you'll see somewhere on the page, usually at the top right corner, links to the site's RSS feed, Twitter account, and Facebook fanpage. I've always wondered why MySpace, being the second largest social networking site by far, isn't on that list.
