In Celtics-Heat Series, Refs Favoring Heat So Far

I’ve been watching the Boston Celtics battle the Miami Heat in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, and so far the referees seem to favor Miami. I’ve written about the obvious late non-call on Dwyane Wade when he slapped Rajon Rondo’s face during a layup in game two. That non-call lead to a fast-break and two extra points for the Heat. It’s a four point swing that decided that game.

Celtics Beat Heat, Tie Series

The Celtics' big lead gone and leading scorer along with it, Rajon Rondo had a message for Kevin Garnett. "It's time," Rondo said. "We have to take the game over." And when that still left the Miami Heat with a final chance, the Celtics turned to an old Garden ghost as Dwyane Wade launched a 3-pointer that would have won it.

NBA Playoffs: Referees Decided Close Game Between Miami Heat and Boston Celtics

I was watching the wild rollercoaster of a second game between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics yesterday. The Celtics looks like they might steal one when they lead early by over ten points.

I just knew that the Heat would make a comeback, and they did. By late third quarter or early fourth quarter, they not only destroyed Boston’s lead, but they also went ahead by as much as seven or eight points.

The Celtics made a run of their own, caught up and sent the game to overtime.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers looked at his aging team at the end of regulation, and he wasn't encouraged by what he saw. "They didn't look fresh," he said Friday night after Boston beat Atlanta 90-84 in overtime to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series. "And, honestly, I looked at the other team – they looked pretty bad, too. So that made me feel a little bit better."

Celtics top Magic, take 2-0 lead in East finals

Too slow? Too old? Try two wins from the NBA finals. Indeed, the Boston Celtics look like they saved their best this season for when it mattered most. "I know," Boston's Paul Pierce said. "It's starting to look that way." Pierce scored 28 points, Rajon Rondo had 25 and the revived Celtics again avoided a late collapse to take a commanding lead in the Eastern Conference finals with a 95-92 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Senh: Can't believe I'm calling Boston Celtics the surprise of the post-season. Everyone has written them off because of their recent injuries. Now that they're all healthy, they're playing nearly as well as when they won the championship two years ago. We'll see if the Lakers really got tougher when they face the Boston Celtics again. Los Angeles won last year because Boston was eliminated by Orlando. If KG was playing last year, I highly doubt the Lakers would have won.

LeBron James better make sure his new MVP trophy isn't missing. The Boston Celtics stole everything else....

Senh: Sure, it was a team effort from Boston, but the difference maker was Rasheed Wallace, who finally showed a glimpse of his former all-star self. He was hitting 3's and posting up. This win's impressive. Lebron looks like his elbow's bothering him. He was tentative, and not very aggressive until it was too late. Let's see how the Cavs respond in Game 3. The commentators said that the two teams split the season series, each winning on the road, so home court advantage doesn't make a difference in this series. I'm rooting for Boston since I'm a Kevin Garnett fan.
