Principal photography has begun in Toronto on Summit Entertainment's spy-thriller Red , based on the DC Comics graphic novel of the same name by Warren Ellis.

It's the calm before the storm for comic-book fans. Following the premiere of the big-screen "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" film, Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, a celebration of the industry.

"Watchmen," one of 2009's most eagerly awaited films, has had its world premiere in London on Tuesday, and reviews cast the movie as classy but no classic.

Warner Bros. Pictures has provided us with the full gallery of photos from Watchmen, opening in conventional and IMAX theaters on March 6. Directed by Zack Snyder ( 300 ), the graphic novel adaptation stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson. Reliance Big Entertainment has acquired Rob Liefeld's iconic graphic novel "Youngblood" for Brett Ratner to direct, reports Variety .

So it is with Oscar-nominated director David Fincher and "Torso," a project Paramount has had on its docket since January 2006 that has drawn interest from stars Matt Damon and Casey Affleck. But even with the success of Fincher's recent "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," the studio allowed the rights option on "Torso's" underlying graphic novel to lapse, leaving the project in limbo.
