But the truth is, we spend one-third of our lives sleeping — so the bedroom wins. And yet, this is not where our decorating dollars go. “A lot of people want their bedroom to have personality,” says Rebecca Atwood, a Brooklyn textile designer, “but they’re not sure what to do.” If your bedroom is basic but you want beautiful, Atwood and Annie Elliott, a paint-color pro and owner of Bossy Color in Washington, have some ideas to revive it.
