Jason Ian Drucker ("Every Witch Way") and Owen Asztalos ("Paterson") have been cast as the young leads of a reboot of "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" franchise in the works at Fox and Color Force. David Bowers, who helmed two of the three previous live-action films which ran from 2010 to 2012, is returning to direct the new feature based on Jeff Kinney's series of books - more specifically the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" title. Drucker will replace Zachary Gordon as the main character Greg Heffley who convinces his family to embark on a summer road trip to attend Meemaw's 90th birthday - so he can secretly attend what he thinks is a nearby gamer convention.
