McHenry County's League of Women Voters sets candidate's forum in Crystal Lake

The League of Women Voters of McHenry County is hosting a candidate's forum on Thursday, Jan. 23, so residents may be able to query candidates on a host of issues.

Voter Service Chairwoman Susan Fugleberg said a meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m. and the forum begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at McHenry County College, 8900 U.S.

Harvard park board to discuss boiler replacement, repainting quotes

The Harvard Park District Board will vote Monday on a quote for a new boiler for the Harvard Aquatic Center and discuss quotes for the repainting of the pool, expenses which had been estimated to cost $100,000 in total.

Although initially estimated at between $70,000 and $75,000, Harvard Parks and Recreation Superintendent Ryan Knop said, quotes for the boiler replacement came in at $72,000 for the high bid and $30,000 for the low bid.
