Huntley Village Board authorizes negotiations for Holiday Inn Express

The Huntley Village Board authorized negotiations for a business development agreement that would allow for the construction of a Holiday Inn Express to be located in Regency Square.

Henry Patel, who owns several properties in the village, including a new, multi-tenant center at Reed’s Corner, notified staff that he secured a three-year license granting franchise rights for a new Holiday Inn Express in the village.

Appellate Court affirms Ottawa High School teacher’s firing should be reversed

The Appellate Court in Ottawa on Thursday denied the Ottawa High School Board’s petition to rehear the Tim Burgess case.

The Appellate Court issued an order in October to reverse his 2015 dismissal and send back the matter to the La Salle County Circuit Court.

 

Crystal Lake ballet school to remain open after car strikes building

SPRINGFIELD – New rules governing how retail gun dealers do business go into effect Friday and include the types of records they must keep, how weapons and ammunition are to be stored and the kinds of video surveillance and security systems they must maintain.

GENEVA – U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Naperville, is looking to get a piece of legislation passed to expand access to primary and behavioral health care services.

During a press conference Saturday at TriCity Family Services in Geneva, the legislative details were rolled out.

“Making sure that people in Northern Illinois can count on seeing their primary care or mental health provider is something that everybody deserves,” Underwood said.
