Crystal Lake police are investigating a "suspicious" incident in which a child was approached by a man while waiting for the school bus on Monday morning in the area of Virginia Road and Darlington Lane.

At 7 a.m., an unknown white man in a vehicle described as a red sedan with tinted windows approached the girl and told her to get in, police said. The child ran from the scene and later reported the incident to a trusted adult.

Cary looks at possibility of leasing municipal vehicles

The village of Cary recently discussed the possibility of leasing its fleet of police, public works and administrative vehicles through Enterprise Fleet Management as it begins to replace older vehicles.
