Mark Haines, co-anchor of CNBC's morning "Squawk on the Street" show and one of the business news network's most recognized faces, died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, the network said. He was 65.

Katie Couric signed off as "CBS Evening News" anchor for the last time on Thursday, thanking viewers for "coming along with me on this incredible journey."

Fox News Channel has terminated the contracts of paid contributors and potential 2012 candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, a spokesman for the network confirmed to CNN.
