According to emarketer, Americans spend a per day average of 5 hours on-line, 4.5 hours watching television, 1.5 hours listening to the radio and half hour reading printed material. Considering that there are about as many internet users per day as there are US households, approximately 110 million, the internet logs more viewing hours.

YouTube Claims Victory Over TV - Battle Won With One Billion Visitors Per Month

With more than one billion unique visitors every month, YouTube asserted last night that the battle between television and the online video giant is over. YouTube claimed victory with six billion views per month. According to the Wall Street Journal, which cited Mark Mahaney's estimates, a stock analyst at RBC Capital Markets,  that YouTube generated about $4 billion in revenue in 2012, up from $2.5 billion in 2011.

 

Once Again, YouTube Prevails In Viacom Case

This marks the second time U.S. District Judge Louis Stanton has taken YouTube’s side in the case, agreeing that the streaming video provider was protected by “safe harbor” provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Surveillance videos captures a drive-by shooting early Monday near the Capitol building in Washington that left 11 people injured. Washington, D.C., police released the video on YouTube and called on the public to help identify two "vehicles of interest in an Assault with Intent to Kill incident."
