Remembering 9/11: Painesville memorial attendees urged to never forget

For the first time in the 12 years the Sept. 11 memorial service has been held on Painesville's square, it rained. Lake County Republican Party Chairman Dale Fellows, who was leading the ceremony, took it in stride. "I think the rain this morning is certainly tears from God, for those represented here by all these flags," Fellows said.

The Fine Arts Association has announced that the deadline to register for fall classes has been extended through Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. All previously canceled classes have been reopened to receive additional registrations.Fine Arts recognizes that families are busy with the start of the academic school year and that more time is needed for them to consider after-school activities, hence the decision for the extension, according to a news release.

 

Willowick resident pays tribute to 9/11

This is the eighth year he has put up the display which continues to grow each year. The display contains 50 fire helmets, representing each state and 2,977 flags representing those who died on Sept. 11, 2001. This year he added a book containing the names of those who died in the terrorists attacks.
