Walk to End Alzheimer's coming to Lake Metroparks Farmpark

Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland will be the site of the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer's on Sept. 30. Activities and registration begin at 8 a.m. The walk steps off after a Promise Garden ceremony at 10 a.m. honoring those affected by Alzheimer's disease. Walk participants choose a one-mile or a three-mile route winding through the Farmpark.

 

Great Lakes Mall, Lake Health to present 'Walk with a Doctor'

Great Lakes Mall announced it will host "Walk with a Doctor," presented by Lake Health, at 9 a.m. on Sept. 28. Local residents are invited to meet in the Main Concourse near Macy's for free health screenings by Lake Health, a hot breakfast and an opportunity to talk and walk one-on-one with Lake Health physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, according to a news release.

Willowick and Eastlake road departments team up for joint paving on Vine Street

Eastlake has the machinery and Willowick has the manpower, so the road crews from both cities are teaming up to pave portions of Vine Street.According to Todd Shannon, Willowick road crew foreman, crews will start Sept. 13 at East 328th Street off Vine Street and proceed to pave four areas on Vine street.
