Comic of Superman debut fetches $1.5M

The comic debut of Superman has sold for an out-of-this-world price. The copy of Action Comics No. 1 from 1938, which features the first appearance of the "Man of Steel" was bought by an undisclosed buyer for a record $1.5 million Monday on the online auction site ComicConnect.com.

Last week, we got the international poster for Iron Man 2 , and today MySpace has debuted this domestic poster for the sequel, hitting North American theaters on May 7. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.

Shane Black to Direct Doc Savage

Columbia Pictures has hired Shane Black ( Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang , Lethal Weapon ) to direct Doc Savage , the Man of Bronze who was originally published in American pulp magazines during the 1930s and 1940s. He was created by publisher Henry W. Ralston and editor John L. Nanovic at Street and Smith Publications, with additional material contributed by the series' main writer, Lester Dent.
