It’s only Tuesday, but it appears as if we’re in the midst of Google Week. Yesterday saw the launch of Google real-time search, Google Goggles and even more Wave invites.

Opera just announced the release of Opera 10.10. This latest version of Opera's desktop browser now includes Opera Unite, the company's browser-based web server. With Unite, users can share photos, music, notes, websites, forums and calendars - but unlike standard web apps, these apps are hosted on the user's computer.

Microsoft just announced that it started work on Internet Explorer 9 three weeks ago. Steven Sinofsky, the president of Microsoft's Windows and Windows Live division, showed an early build of IE9 during his PDC keynote today.

Lunascape, the only browser out there that can handle all three major web rendering engines — Firefox’s Gecko, Internet Explorer’s Trident and WebKit (Safari and Chrome) - received a makeover. The new version (released today), Lunascape 6.0 ORION, is free, in beta stage, Windows-only (Windows 7 is supported) and available in 11 languages (English, Chinese, Spanish, German, Japanese, French and others).

The latest update to the Firefox web browser has now been made available. Released Friday evening, Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 promises a number of new features, including built-in theme support and drag-and-drop file uploads, but perhaps most importantly, there is a renewed focus on browser speed.

There is no question that mobile browsing is taking off. The latest data from Opera shows that nearly 32 million people used its Opera Mini mobile browser in August, 2009, a 147 percent increase over the year before. In terms of pageviews, Opera Mini delivered 13.9 billion last month, a 235 percent annual increase. That means that each person is loading 436 pages a month on their cell phones, or 14 a day.

People hate IE6; they've made that abundantly clear on the web. Unfortunately, plenty of people are still stuck using it for reasons such as their work not letting them upgrade. So Google is doing something about it.

Chrome Frame is a new browser plug-in developed by Google to give you a Chrome browsing experience inside of Internet Explorer.
