FRIDAY PM UPDATE: With a big pricetag of $175 million, and bad buzz preceding it, G.I. Joe seemed certain to tank. For months, Paramount's claims that the movie worked fell on deaf ears. Not until the Stephen Sommers' directed pic came on tracking with incredibly high awareness among males (with scores in the 90s).

In an article at Variety talking about Overnight Productions, the trade revealed that production began this week on Machete, a feature version of the fake trailer that was included in Grindhouse.

The good folks over at Latino Review managed to sneak a look at the script for XXX 3, or as it’s officially known, XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE. After FAST AND FURIOUS, the film marks Vin Diesel’s second comeback to a franchise he abandoned, presumably because he learned the golden Hollywood rule of “if something works once, you can get paid more to do it again.

 

"Voltron" Film Finally Makes Progress

After years of lounging in development, a live-action feature based on the classic 80's cartoon series "Voltron" is in the works at Atlas Entertainment says The Risky Biz Blog.

The series featured a band of five robot-lions who combined to form one super lion. A group of five pilots control the lions, which are charged with defending the planet Arus from villain King Zarkon, who dispatches evil creatures called Robobeats to fight the Voltron robots.
